On November 24, 2017, OSHA issued a final rule (Federal Register) revising 29 CFR 1904.41, Electronic submission of injury and illness records to OSHA, by delaying the initial deadline until December 15, 2017 for submission of calendar year 2016 data from the OSHA 300A form for employers in certain industries that are already required to maintain injury and illness records under existing OSHA regulations. The original electronic submission deadline was July 1, 2017. However, the electronic reporting system was not made available until August 1, 2017.

In accordance with 13 NCAC 7A. 0301(a), the N.C. Commissioner of Labor automatically adopted the federal Recording and Reporting Occupational Injuries and Illnesses Standard with an effective date of November 24, 2017.
