PDF • 6.13 MB - December 30, 2022

On September 18, 2014, OSHA issued a final rule to update the appendix to its Injury and Illness Recording and Reporting regulation (Federal Register). The appendix contains a list of industries that are partially exempt from requirements to keep records of work-related injuries and illnesses due to relatively low occupational injury and illness rates. The updated appendix is based on more recent injury and illness data and lists industry groups classified by the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). The current appendix lists industries classified by Standard Industrial Classification (SIC).

In accordance with 13 NCAC 7A.0301(a), the N.C. Commissioner of Labor automatically adopted the federal Recording and Reporting Occupational Injuries and Illnesses Standard with an effective date of January 1, 2015.
