On January 25, 2019, OSHA issued a final rule (Federal Register) amending 29 CFR 1904.41, Electronic Submission of injury and Illness Records to OSHA. The section, newly titled Electronic Submission of Employer Identification Number (EIN) and Injury and Illness Records to OSHA, no longer requires establishments with 250 or more employees to electronically submit information from OSHA Forms 300 and 301. Establishments required to electronically submit their injury and illness data will continue to submit information from their Form 300A.

In accordance with 13 NCAC 7A. 0301(a), the N.C. Commissioner of Labor automatically adopted the federal Recording and Reporting Occupational Injuries and Illnesses Standard with an effective date of January 25, 2019.
