This STD provides clarification for 29 CFR 1926.550(a)(15)(i); clarification as related to the "forbidden zone" for clearance between electrical power lines and any part of equipment or machines. Old STD number: STD 3-12.1A - Cranes - Clearance Near Power Lines. Note: 1926.550 was redesignated 1926.1501 by new standard issued August 9, 2010, [Federal Register]. However, 1926.1501 does not exist. Subpart CC - Cranes and Derricks provides additional standards applicable to powerlines.
