CFR 195 - Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Annual Adjustments for 2024

On January 10, 2025, OSHA issued a final rule amending 29 CFR 1903.15(d), Adjusted civil monetary penalties. The U.S. Department of Labor published this final rule to adjust for inflation the civil monetary penalties assessed, pursuant to the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015. In accordance with 13 NCAC 7A. 0301(a), the N.C. Commissioner of Labor automatically adopted 29 CFR 1903.15(d),  Inspections, Citations, and Proposed Penalties, Proposed penalties. Adjusted civil monetary penalties. The increased penalties will apply to all penalties assessed on or after July 1, 2025. Reference the Federal Register (Volume 90, No. 6) for the details related to these requirements.
