Campaign for Safety and Health Programs

Safe + Sound Week is a nationwide event held each August that recognizes the successes of workplace health and safety programs and offers information and ideas on how to keep America's workers safe.
Here at the North Carolina Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Division, we recognize that there are employers that are going above and beyond the OSHA requirements to keep their employees safe. NCDOL webinars offered during Safe + Sound Week will outline some of the opportunities that we offer to recognize employers for their efforts in providing a work environment that is both safe and productive. We will discuss our Recognition Programs, including our Carolina STAR, SHARP, and Gold Star Grower programs, as well as other recognition opportunities, like our Safety Awards Banquets and Partnerships. We will also talk about what it takes to qualify to participate in these recognition activities, and who to contact for more information about participating in each one.
