On January 9, 2017, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published a final rule (Federal Register) adopting a comprehensive general industry standard for exposure to beryllium and beryllium compounds. This final rule adopts a number of clarifying amendments regarding the application of the general industry beryllium standard to materials containing trace amounts of beryllium ((1910.1024, - final rule). The N.C. Commissioner of Labor adopted this rule with an effective date of November 7, 2018.
