CFR 163B - Powered Industrial Trucks Operator Training
On June 2, 2003, federal OSHA promulgated a technical amendment to the final rule for powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklifts). The amendment removes and reserves 29 CFR 1910.178(m)(12), covering the use of powered industrial trucks to lift personnel. It is deleted because it was invalidly promulgated from a non-mandatory provision of a national consensus standard (Federal Register). The N.C. Commissioner of Labor adopted the amended federal safety standards verbatim with an effective date of September 4, 2003.
