On July 1, 1994, federal OSHA issued additions and corrections to promulgated amendments to the occupational safety and health standards for General Industry (Federal Register). The additions and corrections to Subpart I - Personal Protective Equipment for General Industry, became effective July 5, 1994. The amendments to the final rule add paragraph (g) to 1910.132, correct a typographical error in 1910.133, make a clarifying amendment to 1910.136, and explain that the new 1910.138 - Hazards to Hands, replaces the previous 1910.138 Effective Dates.

The new paragraph (g) explains that Paragraphs (d) Hazard assessment and equipment selection and (f) Training apply only to 1910.133, .135, .136, and .138; they do not apply to 1910.134 or 1910.137. A table in 1910.133 entitled "Filter Lenses for Protection Against Radiant Energy" is corrected in the column heading "Electric Size" to read "Electrode Size 1/32 in." In 1910.136 a) the phrase ". . .falling and rolling objects. . ." is amended to read ". . . falling or rolling objects."

These corrections to the final rule at 29 CFR 1910 Subpart I were adopted verbatim in North Carolina by the Commissioner of Labor with an effective date of September 1, 1994.
