CFR 116A - Occupational Exposure to Cadmium; Final Rules - Corrections

PDF • 85.41 KB - December 29, 2022

When Federal OSHA promulgated their final rule on occupational exposure to cadmium, the standard for the agricultural industries was inadvertently omitted. In addition, this new final rule mistakenly deleted the qualitative fit test protocol using aerosol saccharin solution.

On April 23, 1993, OSHA amended the cadmium final rule (Federal Register) to include the standard for agricultural industries (29 CFR 1928.1027) and to rectify a technical error by reinstating the aerosol saccharin respirator qualitative fit test protocol at Parts 1910 (General Industry) and 1915 (Maritime).

This correction and amendment to the cadmium final rule were adopted verbatim in North Carolina by Commissioner of Labor on September 24, 1993 with an effective date of the same.
