Focusing on Fatalities

Overview

In North Carolina, one of the most important initiatives for the Occupational Safety and Health Division, is to reduce the number of fatalities in the state. The most common fatality event types for construction and general industry are struck-bys, falls, and caught in/between. Other event types of concern include electrocution and heat-related events.

Occupational Fatality Inspection Review

The OFIR report lists workplace fatalities that were determined to be work-related and inspected by the OSH Division.

Fatality Inspection Data

Provides inspections categorized as fatalities or catastrophes that occurred under state plan and federal OSHA jurisdictions.
