CFR 159 - Incorporation by Reference, 29 CFR 1926.31
On June 18, 1998, federal OSHA promulgated a final rule that corrected or eliminated provisions from various standards (Federal Register). These changes were made to correct out of date, duplicative, unnecessary, or inconsistent standards. One of the changes concerns the incorporation of consensus standards by reference (29 CFR 1926.31) - Note: Deleted. Reference 1926.6 - Incorporated by reference. Paragraph (a) is revised to clarify that only mandatory provisions of standards incorporated by reference are adopted as OSHA standards. The June 18, 1998, corrections and revisions (63 FR 33449-33469) were adopted verbatim with an effective date of October 8, 1998.
