N.C. Safety Amusement Star Program

N.C. Safety Amusement Star Program

N.C. Safety Amusement Star Program

The N.C. Safety Amusement Star Program recognizes companies in the amusement industry that go above and beyond what is required by law. These companies are committed to the safety of their patrons and employees alike. They are also committed to the achievement and maintenance of the N.C. Safety Amusement Star Program requirements and to the goals and objectives of this ongoing program.

Companies interested in participating in this voluntary program must provide the completed application to the NCDOL Elevator and Amusement Device Bureau office. Upon receipt of a completed application, the review process may take up to two weeks. The application is self-explanatory and should be completed in its entirety. Some of the specific requirements may not be applicable to your company; however, the information you will be asked to provide will be subject to a site review visit. Our review team will verify your information before your company will be accepted into the program. All companies that are approved for participation will receive a certificate of participation signed by Labor Commissioner Cherie Berry. Once the participating company has completed the site review process and its documentation meets the requirements of the program, the company will receive a flag displaying the N.C. Safety Amusement Star "Star Site" logo to fly at every location they contract in.

Currently, there are three companies that have achieved Amusement Star status:

  • Wet 'n Wild Emerald Pointe
  • Powers Great American Midways
  • Powers Thomas Midway Entertainment LLC

Fair Partners

In an effort to engage fair managers across the state in the Amusement Star Program, the fair partner program was launched in 2008.
