A fatality is defined as an employee death resulting from an employment accident or illness; in general, from an accident or illness caused by or related to a workplace hazard.
A catastrophe is defined as the hospitalization of three or more employees, but no deaths, resulting from an employment accident or illness; in general, from an accident or illness caused by a workplace hazard.
