This chapter provides guidance for imminent danger situations. NCGS 95-127 (14) defines imminent danger as "any conditions or practices in any place of employment which are such that a danger exists which could reasonably be expected to cause death or serious physical harm immediately or before the imminence of such danger can be eliminated through the enforcement procedures otherwise provided by this Article." It includes pre-inspection procedures for imminent danger situations, the inspection, citations and proposed penalties, follow-up inspection, and the removal of imminent danger notice. To learn more about the inspection process, go to the compliance inspection process webpage.
