CFR 139 - Grain Handling Facilities
On March 8, 1996, Federal OSHA issued a technical amendment (Federal Register) to the grain handling standard, 29 CFR 1910.272, to clarify requirements that provide protection from engulfment to employees who enter flat grain storage structures. A definition of "flat storage structure" is also part of the amendment.
This amendment to the final rule at 29 CFR 1910.272 was adopted verbatim in North Carolina by the Commissioner of Labor with an effective date of June 3, 1996.
