On October 18, 1990, Federal OSHA published a new safety standard for the construction industry. The final rule for Concrete and Masonry Construction Safety Standards; Lift-Slab Construction Operations revises Subpart Q and adds new requirements at 29 CFR 1926.705 -Requirements for lift-slab operations (Federal Register). The new federal final rule at 29 CFR 1926, Subpart Q, has been adopted verbatim in North Carolina by the Commissioner of Labor with an effective date of February 11, 1991.
