CFR 107 - Underground Construction; Final Rule

On June 2, 1989, Federal OSHA published a new occupational safety and health standard for the construction industry, Underground Construction; Final Rule, 29 CFR 1926.800 at 54 FR 23824. This final rule revises and clarifies the old Tunnels and Shafts standard, covers hazards not effectively addressed previously, and reflects the current technology and methods used in underground construction. The federal effective date is 1 August 1989.

This new federal final rule at 29 CFR 1926.800 has been adopted verbatim by the Commissioner of Labor with an effective date of 18 April, 1990.
