CFR 153 - Fire Brigades

PDF • 110.27 KB - December 19, 2022

On June 18, 1998, federal OSHA promulgated a final rule that corrected or eliminated provisions from various standards (63 FR 33449-33469). These changes were made to correct out of date, duplicative, unnecessary, or inconsistent standards. One of the changes concerns the requirements for negative-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus for members of fire brigades (Ref: 29 CFR 1910.156 - Fire brigades). Paragraph (f)(2)(iii) is amended because NIOSH has certified a positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus, and the 10 month phase-in period has expired. The June 18, 1998, corrections and revisions were adopted verbatim with an effective date of October 8, 1998.
