Andy Lancaster
Andy Lancaster serves as Director of Communications at the NC Department of Labor. Lancaster has been involved in public policy and communication work for over two decades. Previously, Lancaster served as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory. In that role, Lancaster served as the liaison between the governor’s office, state and local officials and community leaders. He also managed the governor’s field offices and worked with communications, policy, legislative affairs, and boards/commissions to ensure the Governor’s priorities were carried out.
In January 2016, Governor McCrory recognized Lancaster’s contributions by presenting him with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the state’s highest civilian honor and award that the Governor can bestow. Lancaster’s work in North Carolina is highlighted by the formation of Fight NC Foreclosure during the national foreclosure crisis in 2009. This initiative helped raise awareness of the problem in the Triangle and saved many homes from foreclosure. Lancaster has previously served as an appointed member on the Tryon Palace Commission and currently serves on the board for Community of Hope Ministries and the Appalachian State University Board of Visitors. In his spare time, Lancaster enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, attending sporting events, and playing with Gracie, the family’s Westie.
