Ashley Snyder

Ashley Snyder serves as General Counsel at the NC Department of Labor, overseeing the Legal Affairs Division. Originally from Eden, North Carolina, Snyder earned her B.A. from Wake Forest University and her law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law. Upon graduation, she clerked for Judge Robert N. Hunter, Jr. at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. Snyder has experience representing various State agencies including the Rules Review Commission, the Industrial Commission, and the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. In 2021, Snyder was appointed as the North Carolina Codifier of Rules. She served in that capacity until joining the Department of Labor as General Counsel in 2025.
