Labor Commissioner Josh Dobson released the following statement regarding Medicaid Expansion:
“I would like to commend the N.C. General Assembly on their work and collaboration in making Medicaid Expansion happen in North Carolina. This legislation gives at least 500,000 North Carolinians healthcare coverage that they so badly need. This legislation will also create an incentive for individuals to enter the workforce without fear of losing their healthcare coverage.
I would also like to thank Governor Cooper for signing this legislation into law and inviting me to participate in this momentous occasion.
During my time at the N.C. General Assembly, Medicaid Expansion was near and dear to my heart. It makes me very happy and proud to be a North Carolinian and know that our elected officials have stepped up to help our fellow citizens have better access to healthcare.”
