On January 9, 2017, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published a final rule (Federal Register) adopting a comprehensive general industry standard (1910.1024) for exposure to beryllium and beryllium compounds. OSHA subsequently published a final rule on August 9, 2018 extending the compliance date for certain ancillary requirements of the general industry beryllium standard to December 12, 2018. This final rule extends the compliance dates for certain ancillary requirements of the general industry beryllium standard (29 CFR 1910.1024 - final rule). The N.C. Commissioner of Labor adopted this rule with an effective date of December 12, 2018.
