On June 29, 1993, Federal OSHA amended the final rule on the Permit-Required Confined Spaces for General Industry standard (Federal Register). The changes include corrections of typographical errors located in the standard and appendices as well as clarifications of Federal OSHA's intent when the standard was promulgated.

This amendment of the final rule on the Permit-Required Confined Spaces (1910.146) for General Industry was adopted verbatim in North Carolina by the Commissioner of Labor with an effective date of September 24, 1993.
